Eating out – the Tannochbrae Tearoom

We had a great night out at the Tannochbrae Tearoom the other night to celebrate Mother’s 70th. We always have a good night out at Neal’s and always have a good feed. The Autumn evening menu looked absolutely yummy and choosing was, as ever, impossible.

I had bresola (air-dried salted beef) with balsamic dressed salad to start. The lemon and courgette soup also looked delicious, and the salmon mousse looked great.

Each of the mains got a big thumbs up from the group. I had the venison haunch with apple and bramble jus. It was cooked to perfection – succulent and just a little hint of pink. And gamey. Yum.
The monkfish wrapped in prosciutto looked divine and it was very popular.
Husband had the chicken topped with sunblushed tomatoes and said it was fabulous.

The desserts were equally good – pannacotta, profiteroles or cheese & oatcakes.

A great family celebration and a great meal. Looking forward to next time already.
