Every year I make an pilgrimage to the Wild North (aka Aberdeen) for my very good friend’s birthday. This year I was extremely pleased to have dinner at the delicious Cocoa (Market Street, Aberdeen).
Dinner was a set price Christmas Dinner menu – £35 for three delicious courses. the food was very good and the portions were generous, so overall it was good value.
The staff were excellent. The service was efficient, courteous and professional. They took our jackets, dealt with broken glasses without bother, and opened the wine at the table. Top marks from me.
There were several impressive sounding choices for each course. To start I had salmon, followed by the steak (pictured), and the cheese to finish. All were excellent to taste and well presented. The steak was particularly good.
What tickled my fancy in particular about Cocoa was the prosecco – a delicious slightly-sparkling wine from Italy. It’s pretty hard and expensive to get it outside of Italy, so to be able to get it by the glass and by the bottle, in a white or a rose, is a real treat.
Thanks, Cocoa! Hope to be back on a return trip to the Deen.
