Sour dough baking

I’ve not tried sourdough baking in a while. I started it in an attempt to cut down on added yeast (sourdough only uses naturally occurring yeast).

It worked OK when I did try it. But I think our kitchen was maybe a wee bit hot, so the starter didn’t have the best environment. Finding somewhere with an ambient temperature was a challenge.

The bread turned out fine, but didn’t quite rise as much as I would have liked. I think I’ll give it another shot – finding these photos has inspired me! For anyone interested in starting heir own sourdough starter and giving sourdough baking a shot, here’s a recipe for you from All Recipes.
