Panettone eggy bread

We got two delicious panettone in our Christmas hamper and I’ve been trying to think of ways to eat them – aside from smothered in butter with a cup of tea (one excellent solution). And somewhere on the interwebs I saw a recipe for panettone eggy bread – a genius idea! One I saw necessary to take forward with expediency.

I cut the panettone into six slices, dipped in egg (two, beaten), and fried in our trusty frying pan (with a little Fry Light).

Served with bacon, and a little maple syrup or honey.
