Herby dumplings

Makes 8 dumplings

6oz self raising flour
3 oz shredded suet
1/2 tsp mixed herbs

Sieve flour. Add suet and herbs. Add enough water to make a soft dough (approximately 3 tbsp). Divide into eight pieces and shape into balls. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes on top of a stew or casserole, in a covered dish, in the oven or on the hob.
