Meringues are amazing. And a bit of a mystery for me. I’ve tried sugar free meringues most recently (didn’t work per se, but successful in other ways!), and have managed some great chocolate meringues in the past. But perfection in the making has alluded me.
The other weekend my folks and a house guest who is good and many things (she could knit in her sleep and makes the best fruit cake EVER) and making meringues is one of them. So when offered her meringues and served with cream as a dessert, I couldn’t possibly say no!
The recipe was simple: a meringue with a dollop of freshly whipped cream on top. Perfection.
