I felt like giving Hubby a treat for dinner tonight, so made him tempura, including asparagus (his favourite), green beans (the only way he likes them!) and prawns. Tempura is a firm favourite and a regular on our table.
I also made up some dip to go with it: 3 tbsp fat free fromage frais, 2 tbsp lowest fat mayo, 5 cloves garlic (crushed), and salt and pepper. Mix and serve.
The best part about making the tempura was that I got to do the frying in my wok, on gas – the oil heated up perfectly, meaning the battered vegetables sizzled when they went into the pan and cooked quickly.
