Dinner tonight was pasta based on a familiar theme – pasta with mushrooms in a creamy sauce. I used some cooked chicken and boiled ham instead of bacon – fine, but not as flavoursome as smoked bacon bits! I added paprika again, to the cooking vege and meat – very tasty again too.
But the key thing was that we ate outside, at about 7pm, in the fading sunshine. The weather this week has been crazy (in a good way!) and it seemed a shame to pass it up. We ate the pasta (topped with grated Pecorino cheese and freshly cracked black pepper) and salad (lettuce with cherry plum toms, cucumber and beetroot, topped with Balsamic dressing), and drank wine, on the patio. It was lovely.
