Breaded ham: I’m not sure what the point is

There’s not really much to say about my feelings on breaded ham. Basically, I’m not sure what the point is.

  • The bread doesn’t taste like bread. In fact, it doesn’t taste like anything.
  • It’s not actually bread: it’s Ruskoline, or something.
  • I’ve had breaded ham and it neither looks nor tastes like what you get in the supermarket.

Is it just for colour? Or does the crumb serve some purpose? Or is it one of those recipes that has morphed into something else entirely over many years?
