Vege patch produce: potatoes chitted

OK, so our pink fir apple potatoes have chitted. We started this earlier in the year and it took a month – longer than it should have. And even if it hadn’t I’m not sure it would’ve done them that much good: it has been properly cold and miserable here, and not in a seasonal way.

So, I figure I bought them too late in the year at any rate. That’s a note to self for 2013. And we certainly planted them out too late. But the worst that could happen is we get weird potatoes at the wrong time of year. Or some more next year we didn’t think we would. My dear Hubby planted them out this week, in the rain no less. Fingers crossed…

Anyway, watch this space for news of how this turns out.
