Arrabbiata comes from the Italian for angry; a reference to the heat of the chillis in the sauce. The other key ingredients are tomatoes and garlic. I used dried chilli flakes and a little Tabasco to add heat to my sauce. I also added courgettes for a little more vege in the sauce, and added prawns at the end for protein.
For some reason, penne is popular with arrabbiata – so I went with it.
It all came together beautifully, and tasted pretty fabulous. The suace was pretty spicy until I sitrred it through the pasta and the spice got distributed a little.
