Homemade garlic bread

Homemade garlic bread is so easy, and tasty, that it seems crazy not to do it yourself. I have blogged about making my own garlic bread before, but this time I remembered to take pictures.

There’s not alot to say about making your own garlic bread:

  • mix butter with crushed garlic and freshly cracked black pepper
  • put six or seven cuts in a part-baked baguette (not all the way through)
  • spread in between each cut with butter
  • put in a preheated oven and bake as per the baguette packet instructions

But the thing I did want to mention is the incredible garlic I found. It’s called chef’s garlic, and the cloves are massive. They’re so big I had to cut one in half to make it fit in the garlic press, and normally I can fit a couple in there. And it means less fiddly peeling too. I use alot of garlic, so bigger cloves and less peeling just makes sense.
