Cake 1: the pineapple upside down cake
Hubby first made pineapple upside down cake for my birthday the first year we were living together. It’s yummy, involves the most delicious fruit ever, and doesn’t need icing. This recipe has spices, rather than a plain came mix, which I think is the secret key to a delicious pineapple upside down cake.
Cake 2: the chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and strawberries
The other week my office mate made this same cake (with rasps) and it was awesome. So I was pretty darned pleased to get it again for my birthday! I looked sensational and tasted even better. As ever, the dense chocolate cake tasted all the more yummy the next day. Frankly, it was some sort of miracle the cake lasted that long…
